PALOLEM BEACH goa, goa beaches SAFA SHAHOURI MASJID, PONDA
This is the biggest and the oldest mosque in Goa. It is the only remaining one in Ponda taluka among the 26 mosques that were built by Sultan Adil Shah of Bijapur in 1560. The oldest part today is the water tank in front of the mosque. The two major festivals, ID-UL- Fitr and Id-UL-Zuha are celebrated at this mosque with great pomp and are attended by large number of people.
PALOLEM BEACH goa, goa beaches JAMA MASJID, SANGUEM
This mosque is located about 26kms from Margao at Sanguem, in Sanguem taluka. It was built in the last century and was completely renovated in 1959. The structure is simple and has four minarets at its entrance, flanked by two towers surmounted by pillared kiosks. A dome arises in the center.
